The palate is energetic and precise, with vivid citrus, alpine freshness, and a lightly textured mid-palate from lees aging. A pronounced savory, saline edge carries through the finish, giving the wine both lift and depth. Fresh, mineral, and highly expressive, this is a compelling mountain white.

2016 Scherrer Pinot Noir Sonoma
The 2016 Pinot Noir Sonoma County is a gorgeous appellation-level wine. Bright, full and wonderfully deep, the 2016 has so much to offer. Fred Scherrer likes to release his wines a bit later than most. Readers will find a Pinot that is just starting to show the first signs of aromatic development, yet that also has more than enough freshness to drink well for at least another handful of years. Sweet tobacco, dried herbs, mint, pine, dried cherry and licorice add striking layers of complexity. This is a terrific showing.
