Behind the Cellar Door Imports is a boutique wine importing and distribution company focused on sourcing distinctive, high‑quality wines from independent producers around the world. Azelia is a distinguished, family-run winery with roots dating back to 1920, nestled in Castiglione Falletto at the heart of the renowned Barolo region. Spanning five generations, the Scavino family has built Azelia with steadfast devotion, transforming humble beginnings into a legacy that honors tradition and precision at every stage of production. Today, the winery meticulously cultivates 16 hectares, emphasizing hands-on family management and sustainable practices that prioritize vineyard health and low yields from old vines. This dedication supports Azelia’s continued reputation for quality and authenticity, reflecting a century-long commitment to the heritage and unique terroir of the Langhe hills, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
