Behind the Cellar Door Imports is a boutique wine importing and distribution company focused on sourcing distinctive, high‑quality wines from independent producers around the world. Founded on the belief that great wine should be both expressive and accessible, we prioritize wines that deliver a genuine sense of place without relying on corporate scale or inflated pricing.
Much of our portfolio comes from family‑owned wineries and small, independently operated estates. These are producers closely connected to their vineyards, regions, and traditions, resulting in wines that offer real character, authenticity, and story—even at approachable price points.

2025 Di Lenardo Chardonnay Venezia Giulia IGT
The 2025 Chardonnay showcases Di Lenardo's aromatic Musqué clone in a fresh, unoaked style. Orange blossom, white flowers, green apple, and pear mingle with lemon zest, white peach, and a delicate honeyed note. The palate is crisp yet lightly rounded, with vibrant acidity and subtle lees texture carrying orchard fruit through a clean, saline-mineral finish with lingering citrus.

Established in 1878 in Ontagnano, in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Di Lenardo Vineyards is a family-owned estate where generations of winemaking tradition meet a distinctly modern philosophy. Led by Massimo di Lenardo, the winery cultivates approximately 55 hectares across five family vineyards, each contributing its own character to the estate’s wines. Since taking charge of winemaking in 1998, Massimo has focused on preserving the purity of the fruit, vibrant aromatics, and natural freshness through meticulous vineyard management and precise, temperature-controlled fermentation. Favoring stainless steel over extensive oak influence, Di Lenardo produces expressive, varietally driven wines that highlight Friuli’s distinctive character. The estate’s progressive outlook extends to sustainability, with its cellar powered entirely by solar-generated electricity since 2009. The result is a thoughtful balance of family heritage, technological innovation, and a commitment to consistently high-quality, approachable wines.
