Domaine des Loges

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──

2024 Domaine des Loges Chardonnay Val de Loire

Pale straw color with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and touch of pear and green apples. It is fresh and lively on the palate with an attractive texture, good balance of acidity, and minerality that lingers nicely.

Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──
2023 Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen Bourgogne Blanc Cotes Saline

Pale yellow in color, with scents of white flowers, almonds and toast. On the palate, the great minerality brings out the typicity of our soils, to then finish on flavors of honey. There is impressive tension on the palate, this certainly performs above its appellation – but then these vines were once classified as Chablis. Coming from a terroir with clay-limestone soils rich in minerals and fossils this 100% Chardonnay has a very Chablisian style full of minerality and finesse.

Di Lenardo

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──

2024 Di Lenardo Sauvignon Blanc Monovitigno

The Sauvignon Blanc Monovitigno lifts off with an intense display of grapefruit, dried nectarines, crushed stone, and mineral note. It’s silky-smooth, giving way to ripe pear and nuances of sweet spices that take a turn toward the tropical spectrum on the finish.

Cantina del Pino

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──
2023 Cantina del Pino Barbera d'Asti

The 2023 Barbera d'Asti offers an attractive combination of juicy dark red fruit and Asti savoriness. Aging in steel keeps the flavors vibrant. Dark red cherry, orange peel, chalk and white pepper add nuance throughout. Floral overtones lift the finish.

Ottin

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──

2019 Ottin Torrette Superieur Valle d'Aoste

The 2019 Torrette Superieur smolders up with peppery herbs and dark earth tones that slowly give way to wild stemmed strawberries. This is soft and round on the palate, more savory than sweet, and it peppers the senses with salty minerals and brisk acids. Its fruit is red verging on black, yet it never really comes fully into focus, as this tapers off a bit short and disjointed. The Torrette Superieur is a blend of Petit Rouge, Cornalin and Fumin.

Dei

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──
2024 Dei Rosso di Montepulciano

Bright ruby in color, the 2024 opens with lifted aromas of crushed raspberry, ripe red cherry, and plum, layered with floral notes and a subtle hint of licorice. The palate is round and balanced, offering juicy red berry fruit framed by vibrant acidity and a gentle inner sweetness. Soft, fine-grained tannins provide light structure without heaviness, while nuances of earth, sweet sage, and a touch of hard candy linger through a long, youthful finish. Fresh, expressive, and immediately approachable, yet composed with classic Tuscan poise.

Voliero

── ⋆⋅✧₊❄₊✧⋅⋆ ──

2022 Voliero Rosso di Montalcino

A gorgeous translucent ruby color, the 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is dark and more intense than most wines in its category. It opens with masses of dried black cherry, smoke traces, grilled herbs and dusty violets. It's creamy in texture yet lifted and refined with a pure core of ripe strawberry complemented by cloves. Rosy inner florals dance throughout. Complex yet giving, the 2022 tapers off potent and long with a tug of fine tannins and autumnal spices. This is a Rosso? My guess is baby Brunello. Bravo.
