In 1933 Gervais Gobillard pursued his dream of becoming a winemaker and develop his own line of champagne by purchasing with his life savings 2 hectares of vines in Hautvillers. Gervais persevered in his belief that champagne would not always be reserved just for the privileged of this world. After many years of hard work he had his own brand and a loyal clientele. Today his children carry on with the traditions of Gervais and present their champagne with great quality and price points. The Brut Tradition is a traditional assembly of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Thirty percent of the blend comes from reserved wine from previous years allowing them to obtain a consistent style and bouquet and to maintain the highest quality. It spends at least 2 years maturing in their cellars. This wine has finesse and elegance, is supple and well-balanced. It is a generous champagne with a rich nose and integrated flavors.
Tightly meshed and vibrant, with juicy acidity backing hints of pineapple and papaya, showing flavors of chalk, biscuit, plum and fresh ginger. A note of zesty spice graces the fresh, mineral-tinged finish.
